Hair apparent Simon Harris and Hildegarde Naughton…
atest press release from Simon Harris, issued on Tuesday, April 7th
2026…

Hildegarde Naughton and Fine Gael councillors across the county to highlight the urgent need for more special education places, particularly in North Wicklow and the Bray area. Today’s announcement is a direct result of that work at both the local and Government level.
For too many families, securing a suitable placement for their child with additional needs has been a source of enormous stress and uncertainty.

I wonder why other towns in Co. Wicklow are not so fortunate? given this will bring the number of special schools in bray to 3 why could this not have been positioned in .Arklow or Wicklow town and surrounding areas who continue to have no special school. Students travelling to Bray from as far as Tinahely, and Aughrim. Poor distribution of much needed resources. Special schools in Gorey is full for next 3 years.
