As the month worn on though, one clear winner of our inaugural Greystones’ Best Eatery began to emerge.

Just as the same contender did with our Greystones’ Best Takeaway way back in sunny September.

Yep, in a town with a ridiculous amount of top-of-the-range restaurants and cafés, Daata have won the public vote for – deep breath – Greystones’ Most Exquisite & Downright Exceptional Eateries 2021.

To give its proper, ridiculously long and cheekily convoluted title.

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the support in this town,” said Daata deity Waseem when we caught up with him on this beautiful Sunday afternoon. “And that’s been especially welcome during lockdown. You can see it all over town – people in Greystones have been amazing, helping out all the businesses in the town whenever they can.”

With plans to add some outdoor dining once the lockdowns go back to level 3, Waseem will be welcoming one lucky Guide voter, Mandy Young, winner of our slap-up sitdown for two.

Congrats to all the restaurants and cafés in the town. We’ll meet again, kids, some yummy day…
